| Summery There is a district called Jing Bei Tang in the center of the inner Mongolian desert where Mrs. Yin Yuzhen and her family live alone. To stop the damage caused by the encroaching yellow sands, she and her husband started afforestation activities in 1985. Since then, they have been fighting back the desertification for 15 years without any support from others. The 15 years of pain and solitary effort resulted in an forest extending as far as 2,000 hectares, which has considerably improved the surrounding ecological environment.
